Live a More Inspired Life

OFFERINGS

"The fundamental process of creative action is the same for most projects. It has to do with connecting to another person's undeveloped idea and desire, then finding a way to extract a path forward" - Melisse Herman

Current Group Courses

Online Courses:
Collage - Changing it Up
Alternate Tuesdays - Sept 2, 16, 30, Oct 14 & 28, Nov 11
7pm - 8pm or 8:30pm PT

Collage offers a world of opportunity to play. In this session, students will be stretching their definition of collage - what is included and what's not. We will look at composition, shape, value, and color while challenging our own structures and limitations. Using just paper, scissors, and glue can be a fertile playground for opening your creative process. Looking at artists working both in collage and not, to see how they use different media in visual, political, and material ways. Using not only your scissors, and glue we will explore. $240, contact Melisse to register.

Monthly Critique
Once a month, Tuesday - Sept 9 | Oct 14 | Nov 11 | Dec 9
7pm - Open

Presenting your work for critique and critiquing other artists' work is another aspect of the creative process. Learning to offer thoughtful, useful critique is an important tool in developing as an artist. With these skills, you can discern where you need to improve and how to be objective when looking at not only your work but the work of other artists. Each month, an artist, idea, or movement will be presented for group discussion before work from the group is presented.$160 per person, contact Melisse to register.

Please use either of the following methods of payment for the above classes:
Zelle - (415) 871-6563
Venmo - @mherman58

In-Person Classes:
Plein Air
Sundays - Sept 14 | Oct 12 | Nov 9 | Dec 7
9:30am - 12:30pm PT

Come join the fun of painting/drawing outside with other artists. We will go to different locations in the East Bay each time we meet. I work individually with each student over the 3 hours and at the end of each session, we gather to look at the work and offer critique.I am always looking for new locations in the East Bay, so if you have a suggestion, send it my way. $140 for the set, $40 per class, contact Melisse to register.
